My name is Annagrace Bodman, I am a senior student in Central York HighSchool who loves absolutely everything that has to do with art, music, and creativity. My favorite thing to do in my free time is create pieces of art that portrays my talent, who I am, and what I love most. I love learning about reasons others create and how they do it. Placing myself in another's perspective inspires me to create even more and learn. Putting together these projects is a way I can express that creativity in me and show how much each interest/passion of mine means to me.

For my first Apollo project, I decided to make it about nostalgia behind music. I wanted to create a way to describe how nostalgia effects us through the music we listen to and how it can transport us back to the past. I created a painting that is a visual of what I imagine nostalgia to look like when listening to old music and I also created a descriptive poem of the memories and emotions felt during nostalgia.
My second Apollo project surrounds the understanding of perspective. I decided to use the iconic actress Marilyn Monroe and show the contrast between what the media saw in her and what she saw in herself. Marilyn's perspective is strikingly different than what the public thought, and through her personal writing it shows the deepest and most true depths of who she was. In my project, I wanted to show how the media can sway the perspective of the public and how it affected Marilyn throughout her career.
For my third Apollo Project, I needed to show reasoning through my research. I decided to study the art of people watching and observational sketches of strangers to reveal the reason behind why they come across a certain way to the public. I studied one stranger in particular named Travis and created a script about how he would react in a specific situation based on the information I gathered from observing him. I took note of important aspects of judging a person based on his identity, posture, self-esteem, facial expressions, and much more. I learned a lot about how to properly judge a person I don't know and the reasoning behind why people appear the way they do in this project.
For my final project, the focus was on synthesis. I wanted to come up with a project that I would really enjoy creating. I decided to research three professional film critics and synthesize their styles of writing a film review to write my own. I decided to write a review on the 2019 film The Lighthouse (one of my favorites). To tie synthesizing into my art piece, I decided to take two movies, The Witch and The Lighthouse, because they were made by the same director, and combined the elements and aspects into one scenery.
